Although long familiar with Miro, lately I’ve been drawn to and enchanted by his playful, powerful and dreamlike work. I think as an artist your style is almost like your handwriting. Hardwired and unconscious. And I really love Miro’s hand.
When I think about art that really expresses what is inexpressible, Miro is what comes to mind. Sometimes when this phrase is uttered, that “a picture is worth a thousand words,” what is meant is that we’re midwits that lack the language. When really, what this phrase suggests is not that we create art out of a personal deficit (a lack of intellect, a lack of talent, instances where someone more articulate/eloquent *could* express what we’re trying to say) - but actually, genuinely, that art is the best way to express some transcendent experience that cannot be explained with words. That’s what I feel looking at a Miro: that someone has succeeded in depicting the sublime.

Teach Yourself a Language in 15 Minutes a Day
I’ve been using this method to learn French for about a month, and although I’m obviously not anywhere near speaking the language, I’m surprised by my ability to hear and read individual French words as well as mimic the accent. This is blowing my mind - just to compare, I’ve been learning Spanish since 8th grade, and all I have to show is that I’m pretty decent at reading it, but I absolutely cannot hold a conversation.
